Anaesthesia
This term is derived from the Greek for 'without feeling', and means insensitivity to painful stimuli. Treatment with botulinum toxin is usually not very painful, so that local anaesthesia is generally unnecessary. In treatments of sensitive regions, such as filler treatment of the lips, a local anaesthetic cream is usually applied before treatment.
